I'm always looking for ensemble repertoire for my group piano classes. It is wonderful to have two books that are carefully sequenced in difficulty to fulfil this need.

Included are a variety of styles, from boogie to classical. There are second parts for teachers, but also evenly difficult primo and secondo parts so students can play together. All are originally composed or carefully arranged by master arrangers E.L. Lancaster and Kenon Renfrow, the authors of Alfred's Group Piano for Adults.

If you use the Group Piano for Adults books in your group teaching, these are perfect. Each ensemble correlates with either a range of pages in the textbook or an exact piece (with a duet part written by the authors). Of special interest is Melody Bober's duet parts of Hanon exercises.

Some of the pieces are mediocre music, especially in the first book, but are fine for sightreading. …
