OneSwoop.com Appoints St Luke's for Online Car Assault

OneSwoop.com, a new online discount car-import service, has appointed St Luke's to handle its advertising as it prepares to take on the established players in the UK.

The service, which hired former Forte Hotels marketing director Suki Kalirai as chief operating officer last November, is set to spend [pounds]10m or more this year on its brand and the first ads will appear in four to six weeks.

OneSwoop has secured [pounds]31m of financing from international investors.

The company, which is timing its launch to coincide with the new W-registration cars, is among the first to offer deals on cars brought across from Europe.

The service includes discounts of up to 40% on UK prices, with all paperwork and doorstep delivery.

The prices are not fixed and are based on a quote given by a European dealer, plus a OneSwoop commission fee.

OneSwoop.com is offering a VW Golf 1.4E at [pounds]8283, compared with the UK price of [pounds]11,250. Tom Buehlmann, marketing director at OneSwoop, said: "Our positioning is superior value for money. …
