DMT Picks Dunn to Lead New Media 'Ideas' Arm

Martin Dunn is moving from his post as chief operating officer of Associated New Media (ANM), the new media arm of Associated Newspapers, to head Front of Mind. The newly formed division within Associated's parent group, the Daily Mail & General Trust (DM>), will generate and develop new media services.

Dunn will recruit a dedicated team of five or six new media specialists, charged with generating ideas for business-to-business and consumer services over a wide range of platforms, including the internet and WAP phones.

ANM, has generated services such as Charlotte Street.com and This is London, which build respectively on Associated Newspapers' relationships with its female readership and with London. However, Front of Mind has been given a brief to develop services which are separate from its parent group.

"It's a shop for generating ideas which will allow us to think far outside the box and outside the remit of the group," said Dunn.

Front of Mind will handle projects from origin to launch and will be funded initially by DM>. …
