Geac Publishing Systems, Tampa, Fla., named Bernard Grinberg president and Phil Lowe chief operating officer. Past President Warren Fletcher now runs other divisions of the Canadian parent company.

Grinberg most recently served as product marketing vice president. Before Geac bought Cybergraphic Systems Ltd., he was the Melbourne, Australia, company's chairman and managing director and chairman of its U.S. affiliate. An electrical engineer with extensive computer design experience in the San Francisco Bay Area and Australia, he joined Cybergraphic as a working shareholder shortly after its founding in 1979, originally as hardware engineering director, and later in general management.

Lowe has been general manager of the division's European office. Previously, he was managing director of Matrix Publishing Systems, a circulation and distribution systems business he co-founded in the United Kingdom with Nick Cutts, now circulation development director for Geac Publishing Systems.

Geac's new Command Series line integrates ROP/display and classified ad-rating and management with built-in Internet capabilities. The company is also working on a client/server circulation system for the North American market to create a comprehensive circulation and distribution system with single-copy and subscriber management, customer service, routes, runs and rounds, returns, supply, and subscriptions via the Web.
