Dialog Enhances Intellectual Property Research with WIPO Patent Information

Dialog Corp. has announced the release of the WIPO Patent Cooperation Treaty database, a comprehensive online source of worldwide intellectual property information.

According to the announcement, WIPO patent information enhances Dialog's information collection for patent, copyright, and trademark research made available through the company's Information Services Division. Participation in the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) internal patent filing system has sharply increased since its inception in 1979. With the PCT, a single international patent application is valid in any or all of the 170 member states. WIPO (The World Intellectual Property Organization) administers the PCT system and is one of 16 specialized agencies of the United Nations.

"This important service to our customers bolsters and complements our superior collection of worldwide patent literature," said Jason Molle, president of Dialog's Americas division. "This additional resource gives our customers the ability to use the precision of our search engine to search prior art, investigate patent families, monitor existing and emerging technologies, and track competitors. …
