2000 NSA Annual Convention Education Program

Article excerpt

The National Society of Accountants' 2000 Annual Convention promises to provide a wide selection of educational offerings for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit, as well as a special two-day Institute Symposium for Business, Financial and Estate Planning. As many as 34 CPEs can be earned through a combination of attendance at the education sessions (maximum: 18 CPEs) and the two-day Institute Symposium (16 CPEs). The pricing structure will allow you to register for 1, 3, 4, 5, or 6-consecutive day packages in which to select the education, social events and general sessions you want to attend.

This year's Convention will highlight education sessions offered in three tracks: accounting, technology and practice management. All three tracks will run concurrently; overall you will have 50 hours of continuing professional education from which to choose. Most of the sessions will be repeated for those who were unable to attend the first presentation. CPEs will be awarded for sessions conducted in nine time slots over a three-day period, starting on Thursday, August 24 through Saturday, August 26.

NSA is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have the final authority on the acceptance of individual courses. NSA's continuing professional education programs have been approved by the Accreditation Council of Accountancy and Taxation (ACAT), and the IRS Director of Practice and are in compliance with state boards' CPE rules and regulations.

A special addition to this year's Convention will be the NSA Institute Symposium on Business, Financial and Estate Planning, which will be presented on Monday and Tuesday, August 28th and 29th.

Sixteen (16) CPEs will be awarded to those completing the Institute Symposium (8 CPEs for each day of class). …
