Roddick Hires St Luke's for Human Rights Work

The Body Shop is planning to launch a major new human rights award, and has appointed ad agency St Luke's on a consultancy basis to develop the project, which is due to launch this summer.

Anita Roddick, The Body Shop's founder, approached St Luke's over a year ago to develop an integrated campaign, including poster advertising, direct mail and global in-store branding in more than 1000 stores. St Luke's has also developed a corporate identity for the award and will handle its PR.

The award, called The Body Shop Human Rights Award, is to be a biennial event, offering a total prize fund of [pounds]200,000 It will seek to recognise achievements in all areas of human rights.

A team of regional human rights experts has been specially commissioned to seek out candidates for nomination worldwide. This year's award will concentrate on the issue of child labour. It will be judged by Roddick, together with a panel of experts, and will be held on June 21. …
