CICE Is off to a Great Start

Article excerpt

FCIB launched its international business professional's designation, the CICE (Certified International Credit Executive), first in Europe at its Berlin Conference on October 11, 1999 and then on November 1, 1999 at the Global Conference in New York City. The designation has been well received throughout the profession, as it is the first, truly global recognition of senior professionals involved in international credit, finance and related trade services. Several candidates have already submitted their applications for consideration and are working on their project papers for publication in future issues of Business Credit or other FCIB publications.

The CICE is a voluntary professional designation program that continues FCIB's tradition of excellence and preeminence in the international business arena. The designation endorses an executive's ability to establish, develop and manage credit and finance programs in any region of the world. A revolving committee of peers has been organized by FCIB's Board of Directors to determine the eligibility of a respective candidate. The Accreditation Committee is currently made up of the following CICE title holders:

* William Bastiaan, DSM Group (The Netherlands)

* Co-Chairperson

* Jacky Jamieson, The Credit Department (U.S.A.)

* David I. Marsh, Novus International, Inc. (U.S.A.)

* Co-Chairperson

* Dominique Mathieu, Hoechst Marion Roussel (France)

* Bernard McGough, American Safety Razor Co. (U.S.A.)

* Krister Strandberg, Myllykoski Paper Oy (Finland)

Committee members are volunteering their time to review applications and project papers, as they believe in the importance of this endeavor. …
