McVitie's Manager to Take Up Position at KP

United Biscuits-owned KP Snacks has appointed Mandy Ferguson as its new marketing director, following the departure last week of Nick Canning to News Group Media to take up the role of marketing director.

Ferguson, 42, joins KP from sister company McVitie's, where she was business group controller, managing the company's multiple business with retailers such as Tesco, Safeway and Asda. She originally joined McVitie's in 1993, overseeing activity for brands such as Digestive, Homewheat and Rich Tea, later moving on to become projects director.

In her new role Ferguson will be responsible for all advertising, marketing, sales promotion and public relations across KP's range of crisps and snacks, including high-profile brands such as Hula Hoops, Discos, Mini Cheddars, Skips and KP Nuts.

KP last year spent about [pounds]10m on above-the-line activity, with a further [pounds]5m on below-the-line work. Both these figures are expected to rise next year. …
