Artesia Technologies, Inc., a provider of digita asset management solutions, has announced that Random House, Inc. has selected the company to support an initiative being undertaken by the publisher to create a framework for 21st-century publishing. As part of this agreement, Random House has adopted Artesia's TEAMS digital asset management solution to create an enterprisewide digital archive encompassing both new and existing titles as well as related marketing collateral and audio recordings. Random House will rely on this archive to support all of its electronic publishing operations, including the development of a new publishing initiative, as well as facilitating the electronic distribution of marketing collateral and audio recordings to trade partners around the globe.

"Artesia's TEAMS solution allows us to streamline the collection and distribution of our text- and audio-based content, while enabling us to establish stronger relationships with our trade partners and, at the same time, allowing us to pursue new areas of business," said John Buese, chief information officer at Random House.

Annually, Random House, Inc. publishes more than 3,000 new hardcovers, trade and mass-market paperbacks, audio-books, and electronic books, and has an active backlist of over 20,000 titles. …
