MCB, EBSCO Information Services Offer Consortium to Customers in Korea

EBSCO Information Services and MCB University Press have announced that they're working together to offer mutual customers in Korea the opportunity to act as a consortia in purchasing paper titles from MCB and acquiring access to the full-text EMERALD electronic database.

Consortia agreements offer universities access to information at a lower cost. This allows scientists, researchers, and public officials to obtain the latest data and use that in their teaching, research, and daily activities. Consortia purchasing expands the readership of the journals by allowing more users to access journal and database subscriptions.

"MCB offered the joint customers of EBSCO and MCB the opportunity to join together to continue to purchase their paper titles, but also expand their resources to the full-text EMERALD electronic database at a cost acceptable to both parties," said Shelly Grimshaw, head of consortia management at MCB. "This consortium was the result of a publisher and an agent working together to allow mutual customers to enjoy all the benefits associated with consortia agreements."

"MCB has taken a leadership position among publishers in understanding that libraries need to get the most out of their subscription-purchasing budgets," said Mark Williams, manager of content development for EBSCO Online. …
