Many blue chip organisations are starting to recognise the value of enabling people to get a better balance of work and life. As a result, employees are becoming more motivated, less stressed and more creative.

The Resource Connection has carried out a number of studies with the Industrial Society that asked members of the CIM about their working lives. In one study, 95% of respondents said that they regularly worked more than eight hours a day. Over 80% thought flexibility would benefit their company in attracting the right calibre of marketers and 82% believed that flexible working affected the bottom line.

However, when it comes to dealing with our agencies some of us regress. We expect our suppliers to be constantly available, sometimes having to work through the night, or at weekends and still there for us bright and early the next day. …
