We're Off to San Diego
There are only a few more weeks before the ACTE Annual Convention and Trade Show in San Diego. The convention runs from December 7 to December 10 with many outstanding sessions. Most of the sessions will be held at the San Diego Convention Center with luncheons and affiliate meetings at the division headquarters hotel, Hyatt Regency. Joyce Winterton of USA Today Education and one of the ACTE Business Partners, will be the keynote speaker for the opening session of the Business Education Division. National Education for Business Month
November is National Education for Business Month, sponsored jointly by the ACTE/Business Education Division, Business Professionals of America, Career College Association, Future Business Leaders of America, and the National Business Education Association. This month offers all business educators an ideal opportunity to demonstrate why a business education curriculum is so important to all students, regardless of what career they ultimately pursue. Business Education National Hall of Fame
On October 14, 2000, the National Hall of Fame honored three outstanding leaders in business education. Ruth I. Anderson, Lloyd V. Douglas and Dorothy L. Travis were inducted at a ceremony held at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, home of the Hall of Fame since 1995. The National Hall of Fame honors leaders in business education who have contributed significantly to the field and who have passed away in recent years. Nominations are taken in even years and are due on February 1 of that year.
