Jacob's Bakery Recruits Mars Celebrations Man

Jacob's Bakery has poached Graham Hunter, the Mars Confectionery marketer who masterminded the launch of Celebrations, to be its new marketing director.

Hunter fills the post vacated in August by Barbara Reid, who left the job after just seven months to return to her native Canada. He will assume responsibility for Jacob's range of snack and biscuit brands, including Cream Crackers, Club, Twiglets, and Cheddars.

His appointment comes as the Danone-owned company's marketing department moves from Aintree to London. He will report to Lorna Davis, Jacob's managing director.

Hunter leaves Mars after a ten-year stint in which he worked on several of the chocolate giant's best-selling lines, including Mars and Galaxy. He developed and launched the Celebrations chocolate assortment brand following his appointment as brand manager in 1994.

After three years he was seconded to the gifting and kids category as business category leader, but returned to Celebrations in 1998 as European central marketing brand leader responsible for the product's marketing and roll-out across Europe. …
