"What's the deal with the Be A Player ad in your mag?" taunted a friend who cherishes the moments when he can bust my chops. "If I subscribe to Guitar Player, doesn't it figure I am a player?"

"Well," I said, "perhaps we'll tailor the copy specifically to you and say, `Be A Better Player.'"

All kidding aside, musicplayer. com is about education. Unless you're destined to be a star (in which case, what you do--or don't do--will have no bearing on your ultimate success), you'll have little chance of conquering today's brutal music market without smarts, chops, and ideas.
