Dixons Takes on Leading Marketer from the Link

Dixons has drafted in Ian Ditcham as chief marketer, from sister retail chain The Link.

Ditcham, a long-standing employee of the Dixons Stores Group (DSG), moves across after just under a year as marketing director of communications-focused chain, The Link. He joined The Link in April last year from Dixons Direct, where he was sales and marketing director.

Formerly, Ditcham worked in various high-level marketing and buying positions at supermarket giant Tesco, across food and non-food categories.

The move to the Dixons high street electrical chain follows an eight-month search after previous marketing director Chris Langley's promotion to managing director.

In his new role of marketing director, Ditcham is responsible for overseeing Dixons' marketing strategy, and reports directly to Langley.

The move leaves DSG seeking a new chief marketer for The Link. The post is currently being advertised but the company declined to comment on when an appointment might be made. …
