Sara Lee has promoted Julie Baker to become marketing director for its Household & Body Care division, following Caroline Clarke's appointment as UK president and managing director.

Baker, who is currently international category manager, will start the role on April 1. She will take responsibility for brands including Brylcreem, Radox, Matey bubble bath and air freshener Ambi-Pur.

Clarke is taking over from Ton van Bilsen, who is moving to an undisclosed post within Sara Lee. Her promotion comes at a time when Sara Lee's main H&BC brands are all performing well.

During Clarke's time as marketing director, AmbiPur became the number one air freshener brand, worth [pound]40m five years after launch, according to figures from IRI.

Sara Lee has become the top branded washing and bathing manufacturer in the UK, with a 17.4% share. Radox is worth [pound]65m, and is the UK's top washing and bathing brand, with a 25.5% share in the bath liquids sector, and 15. …
