Ross Barr joined BMP in 1972 as a graduate trainee planner -- two weeks later than his colleague, Chris Cowpe. He became head of planning in 1976, and in 1989 he and Cowpe were made joint managing directors, taking over the running of the agency in 1998 after Chris Powell stepped down.

This writing is streamlined and simplified to such a degree as to render it almost impossible to read, but after a few minutes peering at it I found that I could just about read it.

All writing is a compromise between the speed of the brain and the slowness of the hand. Due to the immense speed of this writer's thinking he minimised manual lack of speed as far as possible--and the result is that anyone who wants to understand him has to work at it.

Of all the writing samples I have analysed for Marketing this has to be the most unusual. This chap simply doesn't conform to the rules and expectations that the rest of us have little choice but to abide by. …
