Just a word of introduction. This issue of the Negro History Bulletin (NHB) marks my debut as editor. In addition, the NHB has undergone a complete overhaul of the editorial review board, which now includes Stacey Close, Eastern Connecticut State University; Margaret Dwight, North Carolina A&T State University; Walter Hill, National Archives and Records Administration; Ibrahim Kargbo, Coppin State College; and Oscar Williams, North Carolina Central University. Tamara Brown and Ida Jones will serve as associate editors.

The Bulletin is also undergoing a new look with a renewed focus on bringing information to you. During my tenure a greater emphasis will be placed on the NHB as the communication link between the National Council, headquarters and the general membership. It will also reach out as the voice of the various ASALH branches and actively pursue branch news from across the nation. We want to know what you're doing in your corner of the world. In the near future, the editorial staff hopes to make greater use of the Internet and e-mail systems to provide the membership with timely information on important meetings, conferences, and activities. …
