Dialog Information Services representatives in conjunction with two database producers, Predicasts and UMI/Data Courier, presented seminars in Tokyo and Osaka to employees of the Kinokuniya Company, Ltd., Japan's largest book publishing house and a worldwide information service company. Kinokuniya Company invited other Japanese corporations to participate, including Fuji Xerox Company, Ltd., Kirin Brewery Company, Ltd., Mitsubishi Research Company, Ltd., Nikon Corporation, Knight-Ridder Unicom Japan, Shiseido Company, Ltd., and others.

Ream, vice president, marketing, Dialog.

"Isao Miura, executive director, electronic information marketing division, Kinokuniya Company, understands the value of taking aggressive marketing steps. The seminars included programs given for corporate executives and searchers: Dialog UPDATE and the Corporate Intelligence Seminar. An additional Life Sciences Subcommittee session was presented.

The Dialog UPDATE sessions provided an overview of Dialog's corporate direction including discussions about the impact of the Knight-Ridder acquisition, product plans and developments. Discussions focused on the important aspects and issues of Dialog as an international information resource, particularly emphasizing information sharing between Japan and the United States.
