Reflecting the increase in digital homes, IPC Media's TV& Satellite Week, up 13.2% in the period and 18.3% year on year, was the only star performer among the paid-for listings titles.

Distribution of the Sky Customer Magazine, formerly Skyview Digital, was up 22.5% in the period and 79.4% year on year.

IPC Media's market-leading What's on TV is showing signs of recovery from its battle with Bauer's TV Choice. The latter launched two years ago with a budget price, sparking a cover-price war.

Encouraged by improving sales in recent months, What's on TV is to increase its cover price by 3p to 45p next month. This is still 5p cheaper than its price before TV Choice entered the market.

IPC tx managing director Caroline Ward estimates that the price war has cost the TV listings sector [pound]8m in lost retail revenue, while only adding 100,000 to overall copy sales. …
