'Have you seen this card?' asks the headline. How could I miss it? When this distinctive, larger-than-life replica of an RAG card landed on my mat, my first thought was, 'That reminds me. I must renew my RAC membership.'

Which is precisely what it's designed to make me think. My next thought, which came soon after, was, 'Wow! What a fantastic piece of DMI'

The work was timely-a month after my renewal pack had become buried in my study in-tray. We were due to make the long drive to our holiday home on the coast the next weekend and really should not be without the peace of mind that comes from being covered by the RAG.

Like all the best ideas, it is beautifully simple. But simple ideas don't come easy, unless you're lucky. They do work, however, and this works a treat,
