THE ROAD RUNNER TALKING BIBLE

This portable, hand-held, text-to-speech player provides the listener with easy access to the entire text of the bible. Although it was designed for people with visual disabilities, the Bible can be enjoyed by anyone who would prefer to hear the text rather than read it. It weighs 4 oz. and plays continuously for up to 40 hours on two AA batteries. The telephone-like keypad enables the user to skip from one verse, chapter, or book to another and bookmark favorite passages. The user can adjust the volume and reading speed, as well as the voice type.

YOUR OWN WORLD (YOW)

This is a new software program that provides completely controlled Internet access for children ages 2 through 12. Constant supervision becomes unnecessary because the child is not actually online. Such a controlled method of access to the Internet can benefit some children with learning disabilities because it minimizes certain frustrating elements, such as too many options and long waits for downloads and pageloads. The parent can load the software and select the Web sites the child may visit. Once the software is on the computer, the child can choose from these sites and experience all their content, such as learning activities, games, animation, etc., without having to log onto the Internet. In addition, the faster time for downloading and transitions lessen the opportunity for distractions.
