Key Pillsbury Role Goes to Cereal Partners Boss

Pillsbury UK has picked veteran Cereal Partners marketer Linda Hipkiss as its commercial director, overseeing marketing for the Old El Paso and Green Giant brands.

Hipkiss, formerly known as Linda Hipkiss Mills was at multinational food giant Cereal Partners Worldwide (CPW), where she was vice-president of marketing, based in the company's European headquarters in Morges, Switzerland.

She moved into the role in September 1998, after four years as marketing director for Cereal Partners UK. In that position she was responsible for brands such as Shredded Wheat, Shreddies, and Cheerios.

Previous to the UK role she was business development manager for CPW Latin America.

She has been replaced at CPW by Michelle Meyer, who joins from food giant General Mills in the US.

Before Cereal Partners was established in 1989, Hipkiss spent five years working for General Mills, which is now in the process of acquiring Pillsbury from owner Diageo.

Hipkiss replaces Rob Hancock, who left to join Six Continents (then Bass Hotels and Resorts) in July. He took the the new position of vice-president, brands, EMEA.

Hancock had been at Diageo since 1990 and at Pillsbury since 1995, becoming UK and Ireland marketing director in August 2000 and commercial director earlier this year. …
