Tam Smith is now head of 14 TruGreen LandCare branches in San Diego, Phoenix and Las Vegas that make up the company's Southwest Region. Included are seven maintenance branches, three construction branches, three nursery branches and one preservation branch.

Richard A. Sperber is new president and chief operating officer of Environmental Industries, Inc. (ElI). He succeeds Burton S. Sperber, who retains the title of chief executive officer and Chairman of the Board. Stuart J. Sperber is new vice chairman of Ell's Board of Directors, and will remain chief executive officer of Valley Crest Tree. In other personnel moves, Andrew J. Mandell is new senior vice president and chief financial officer of Ell; Robert L. Crudup, Jr. becomes president and chief operating officer of Valley Crest Tree; Thomas C. Donnelly is new president and chief operating officer of Valley Crest; Vicki Povah Martinez becomes senior vice president of Valley Crest; Nada F. Duna is new vice president of Environmental Care, Inc. (ECI).

Fred Haskett, a new facilitator for U.S. Lawris, will act as the mentor for a group of owner-operators. Haskett has been with Greenworld Landscape Management, J.C. Ehrlich Co., and the Brickman Group. His base of operations will be in St. Louis, Mo.

Brett Horan has been promoted from San Diego construction operations manager to Temecula construction branch manager at TruGreen LandCare. Horan is an eight-year veteran who started out as a construction foreman. Before joining TruGreen LandCare, Horan was a contractor with a local landscaping firm. …
