While the technology of the Web has done a lot to bring people closer together, nothing replaces spending time in person with the ones you love during the holidays.

Some think that "family" refers only to blood relations, but I prefer the definition espoused by the Gay and Lesbian Family Values site at http://www.angelfire.com/co/GayFamily Values: A family is "a unit of love," whether you are biologically related or not.

But no matter how you spend your holiday, don't forget what the day is all about. A great way to express your thanks is to give back to your community.
