PENNSYLVANIA

Richard J. Sayers, 54, vice president and editor of the Connecticut Post in Bridgeport, has been named executive editor of the Erie Times- News. He succeeds Robert Lloyd, who resigned in July. Sayers, who began as a photographer and sportswriter at The Derrick in Oil City, has worked as assistant managing editor at The National, the now-defunct sports daily; assistant managing editor for sports at The Detroit News; and executive sports editor at the Boston Herald.

TEXAS

Carlos Sanchez to editor of the Waco Tribune-Herald from state editor of the Austin American-Statesman. Sanchez succeeds Bob Lott, who is retiring.

COLORADO

Steve Henson to managing editor of The Pueblo Chieftain from city editor. Henson succeeds Executive Editor Len Gregory.

Wallace R. Cooley to controller of the Washington Post Co. from director of consolidation accounting and financial reporting for Gannett Co. Inc. Cooley succeeds Matthew C. Seelye, now vice president and chief financial officer of Post Co.'s Quest Education.
