States Adopt @ Your Library. (News Fronts ALA)

Several states are joining the ALA "@ your library" Campaign for America's Libraries, the Association's five-year public education effort to promote the value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century.

The Alaska Library Association's Juneau Chapter has launched a citywide public education campaign to promote all types of libraries. One of the goals of the "Reach Out to the Community @ your library" campaign is to increase funding for school libraries so that every school library in Juneau has a full-time librarian and current materials.

The Idaho Library Association has adopted "@ your library" as its advocacy platform for the next four years. Its slogans, "Information Flashpoints" and "@ your library" are being used on bumper stickers, flyers, letterhead, and candy bars that were presented to Idaho legislators during ILA's Legislative Day breakfast.

New Jersey's libraries have chosen the "@ your library" campaign as the focus of a statewide marketing initiative. The goal is to create awareness of services offered by New Jersey's libraries, to increase support for their programs, and to recruit more librarians to the profession. …
