Mary Edna Anders, 79, principal research Scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta from 1969 until her retirement in 1981, died October 18 of congestive heart failure. She had also been on the staff of ALA's Survey of Library Functions of the States and was executive director of the Southeastern States Cooperative Library Survey. Anders was honored for her achievements with awards from the Southeastern Library Association, the University of North Carolina, and the Alabama Library Association.

* Daniel Foley, 58, a nonbook cataloger and meta-data librarian at the University of Wisconsin/Milwaukee's Golda Meir Library, collapsed and died November 17 while teaching a workshop. During his career he also held positions in libraries at Tulane University and Xavier University in New Orleans; Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana; and at the University of Louisiana/Lafayette.

* Dorothy Gray, 58, library services manager for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority since 1988, died October 19. Under her guidance, the library became a federal repository for transportation manuscripts and documents. …
