A Decade of Vital Research on CD-ROM

PolTox, the new CD-ROM database to be introduced by Compact Cambridge early in 1990, offers the industry's most comprehensive compilation of vital research reports on pollution and toxicology.

The new database will cover the entire spectrum of scientific, industrial and social concerns about toxic substances and environmental health. It combines the contents of five databases available exclusively from Cambridge, plus the National Library of Medicine's TOXLINE subfile and the Food Science and Technology Abstracts database maintained by the International Food Information Service.

A total of 800,000 records, accumulated over ten years, will be available to specialists, researchers, and managers through PolTox.

The service will include current year database entries, updated quarterly, plus a "rolling" backfile of nine previous years.

Cambridge is offering an introductory 25 percent discount to subscribers to the new service during 1990. The base price for PolTox is $1,995. Renewals after 1990 will be $1,495. The new database will be available next month, with 30-day evaluation discs available now.

PolTox includes all of the Information listed in the following sources:

* Pollution Abstracts, the leading abstracts journal for all the environmental information needed to resolve daily problems, ensure ongoing compliance, and handle everyday situations relating to any type of pollution (air, water, radiation, noise, among others).

* TOXLINE, a subfile of the National Library of Medicine database covering the toxicological, pharmacological, biochemical, and physiological effects of drugs and other chemicals in such areas as drug reactions, air pollution, chemical carcinogenesis, food contamination, water treatment and more. …
