Carl Lyons is head of UK marketing at He joined in 1999 after three years of marketing at The Guardian, where he managed a brand strategy revamp. Prior to this, Lyons worked at Guinness for six years.

This man is a human whirlwind. All writing is a compromise between the speed of the brain and the slowness of the hand...the faster the brain the harder it is for the hand to keep up.

This writer thinks immensely quickly -- far faster than ordinary mortals do. A pointer to this is the way he speeds his hand by omitting whatever he can from the writing.

One example is his version of the word 'the' -- it has no 'e'. The achievement of desired goals is his main motivation and what is more he is a first class delegator. This is the guy to make things happen.

I note that some words begin with capitals where no capitals should be. This almost invariably points to someone who enjoys new challenges and new beginnings.

A law unto himself, this man knows full well that 'he who moves fastest moves alone'. …
