Barclays Creates Retail Portfolio Role in Revamp

Barclays has appointed Richard Harvey as marketing director of its new personal financial services division. The appointment is part of a wider restructuring of marketing, led by group marketing director Simon Gulliford.

The restructuring aims to make marketing across all parts of the Barclays business more cohesive (Marketing, January 24).

Harvey, who was previously Barclays customer experience director will have responsibility for marketing all Barclays retail products, including the Woolwich portfolio and its integrated banking offer Open Plan, which is being rolled out across the Barclays group.

Harvey will report to Gulliford alongside marketing directors for the retail bank, business banking, Barclaycard, and Barclays private clients as the bank brings brands more tightly under Gulliford's control.

The move to bring the Woolwich under the personal financial services division sees the marketing director for the Woolwich report to Harvey. Kieren Letts, Woolwich customer experience director, is strongly tipped to take the marketing director role, after chief marketer Sue Sjuve took up a non-marketing role within the main Barclays bank. …
