At the beginning of the fiscal year, Oct. 1, 2000, IABC had 13,306 members plus 483 students. At the end of the fiscal year, IABC had 13,173 members plus 943 students. During the past year, IABC:

* Conducted one of the most successful international conferences yet in New York in June, with more than 1,600 attenders from 35 countries.

* Launched a new online e-commerce IABC store in September that brought in US$7,500 in revenue in its first two weeks of operation through sales of products and seminar/conference registration fees.

* Created an IABC/Europe/Africa region test program for packaged membership; the program was launched in March.

* Established the IABC 500 club to allow members to pay US$1,000 for a lifetime membership, which also entitled them to special discounts and recognition for their support of IABC.

* Held the first silent auction at the international conference, bringing in US$20,000 for the association.

* Developed "Communication in the 21st Century Workplace," an in-house training kit by Roger D'Aprix, ABC. …
