SilverPlatter Publishes Six Elsevier Specialty Databases

Under the terms of an agreement with Elsevier Science Publishers. SilverPlatter Information will publish a series of health science specialty databases on CD-ROM. This month the company will release three products: Cardiology, Drugs and Pharmacology, and Immunology and AIDS, to be followed by three more products in July: Psychiatry, Gastroenterology, and Neurosciences. Each product will contain 10 years of information, be updated, and include a comprehensive selection of the specialist subject information from Embase which covers 3,500 journals. The six specialty databases include: Cardiology-This title is expected to span two discs and include over 270,000 abstracts and citations selected and indexed by Excerpta Medica. Information covered includes cardiology, cardiovascular diseases, and cardiovascular surgery. Also included are diagnosis, treatment, epidemiology, and prevention as well as all aspects of individual cardiovascular diseases and disorders.

Immunology and AIDS-This two disc set will include 260,000 records. 7,000 records will be added per update. The scope of Immunology and AIDS includes all aspects of clinical and experimental immunology as well as immunity, autoimmunity, hypersensitivity, histocompatibility, and all aspects of the immune system. There is extensive coverage of cancer immunology, immunotherapy, immunopharmacology, and immunological aspects of transplantation, paraproteinemias, and the lymphoreticular system. Information on AIDS is also well covered. Drugs and Pharmacology-It contains more then 900,000 abstracts and citations and will span four discs. Drugs and Pharmacology provides comprehensive coverage of drugs and pharmacology literature, including the effects and use of all drugs and potential drugs, and the clinical and experimental aspects of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. …
