TV firm rescues City Limits from receivers

London listings title City Limits will relaunch on November 27 after its rescue last week from the hands of the receiver.

Its new owner TV production firm Clark Productions plans to turn the redesigned paper into a more general campaigning arts and entertainment magazine. And it will put together a package of measures aimed at reviving the fortunes of the embattled title - which has seen circulation plummet to just 20,000.

One key change - to make booking classified ads easier - will be made immediately.

"If you want to place a classified ad in City Limits at the moment you have to send it through the post and put a cheque in with it," says Clark's managing director Bernard Clark.

Clark intends to bring the title in line with other magazines which accept credit card bookings through 0898 numbers. "It's a much better marketing approach," he says. …
