New Coordinator Has Vision. (National Therapeutic Recreation Society)

"I have done an exercise with clients where we lay out several circles and each one represents a level of growth with the outer layer being the panic zone. Well, I hit my panic zone the day before the movers showed up at my apartment in DeKalb," says NRPA Therapeutic Recreation Coordinator Susan Potts, M.S., CTRS. "The fact of coming to this new place and position finally became real. The excitement of taking on the joys and challenges of being the NTRS coordinator for NRPA kept the difficulty of moving halfway across the country in perspective."

Potts is enthusiastic about being the NTRS coordinator because it brings together her commitment to clients' rights, accessibility and best practices in therapeutic recreation. "I am looking forward to working with all the members of the National Therapeutic Recreation Society as we bring ourselves into the 21st century and take our field where we have only imagined," adds Potts. …
