The North Slope Multiple-Use Trail Partnership, which supports the Wasatch-Cache National Forest in Utah and Wyoming, received an Achievement Award from the Coalition for Recreational Trails in the category of Multiple-Use Management and Corridor Sharing. The coalition recognized "The Hiking Safely Brochure," for the Trails Web Site and Trails Analysis, Hawaii, in the category of Education and Communication, Statewide. The Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Snowmobile Education Program in Boise National Forest (Idaho) was recognized in the category of Education and Communication, Local.

Listening to the citizen voice is what helps to make the Oregon Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan a success. Not only do five of the eight board members have to be citizen board members, but the chair must be one of them. In this way, the citizens can have both their say and their seat at the table.
