The 2002 Congress of Cities and Exposition in Salt Lake City December 3-7 offer something for everyone, from workshops and seminars to general sessions and keynote speakers to mobile workshops and special events. Early bird registration ends September 30, so don't delay in registering at www.nlc.org.

The conference begins Tuesday, December 3, with several Host City Mobile Workshops and Leadership Training Institute (LTI) Seminars. The Host City Mobile workshops provide the opportunity to venture out into Salt Lake City and learn first hand what exciting programs the city has going on.

The LTI seminars provide the opportunity for full and half day intensive skill-building sessions. Learn practical tools that you can take home and apply right away to the challenges you face as a leader. Please note that in an effort to provide more delegates the opportunity to participate in host city mobile workshops, advance registration is being offered this year. Visit the Salt Lake City website at www.slcgov.com/nlc/ for mobile workshop descriptions and registration information, Registration information for the LTI seminars can be found on the NLC website at www.nlc.org.

Pre-conference events continue Wednesday, December 4, with additional mobile workshops and LTI seminars. The Opening Welcome Reception will also take place Wednesday from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. in the exhibit hall. This new venue for the opening reception will allow delegates to visit with exhibitors early in the conference and provide the opportunity to see what products and services are available. Be sure to step by City Show case and see innovative city programs. The City Showcase will be in the exhibit hall and will be open during the reception Wednesday as well as during the exhibit hall hours on Thursday and Friday.

The main conference kicks off Thursday morning, December 5, with the opening general session followed by the Welcome Lunch hosted by Salt Lake City. …
