Two Wire Data Communication Line Driver

Telebyte Technology Inc. has recently announced the availability of its Model 203 Two Wire Groundless Line Driver/Short Haul Modem offering dramatic improvement in data reliability under adverse conditions. The Model 203 represents a significant technical improvement over previous two wire, full duplex, DC coupled short haul modems/line drivers. Prior technology was based upon establishing a ground link between units by using one of the wires comprising the single twisted pair. Subsequently, any AC noise or perturbations which were reflected on the grounds of either system at the ends of the link had the ability to degrade the data.

The Model 203 uses a fully differential, simultaneous, drive/receive technique on a single pair. The superior properties of differential data transmission are used in Telebyte four wire products. Now these same advantages are available on two wire links. The Model 203 Two Wire Groundless Short Haul Modem provides flawless operation up to 19,200 BPS over distances of 2 miles.

The 203 incorporates low power and advanced power generating circuitry to allow maximum performance while deriving its operating power from the transmitted data line. …
