A typical Tuesday in Las Vegas on September 11, 2001 and I am on my way to work in the morning. The radio tells me of the atrocity and horror that has happened in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. My first thought goes to my family. I call my wife and tell her the news. We pray--me on my cell phone and her in our kitchen. I tell her to take care of the kids and that I will be home late. My company comes next. We put into play our crisis management plan. There is a head count of those at our New York/New Jersey-based operations working at the Javitz Convention Center in New York City, of our Washington, D.C. staff and of those who are travelling domestically and internationally. All are accounted for with no losses. We are fortunate. Our CEO provides thoughtful words and leadership for our employees. I then think of my other family, RIMS. There are too many questions: Are the staff members Safe? …
