Homebase Picks Lowe to Work with AMV BBDO

Homebase has handed a chunk of its pounds 18m advertising account to Lowe, which it has appointed to work alongside incumbent agency Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO on 'an unspecified project'.

The DIY retailer would not reveal any further details of the task given to Lowe. Head of brand marketing Andrea Preducov said: 'Due to the broad-ranging requirement of our marketing needs and our future strategy, we have decided to develop a roster of ad agencies to provide flexibility across all ad media.'

However, it is likely that Homebase will ask Lowe to come up with a fresh creative concept to replace Neil Morrissey and Leslie Ash as stars of its advertising in the New Year, as part of an overhaul of its brand communications.

Although Homebase will use Men Behaving Badly stars Morrissey and Ash for this year's Christmas advertising campaign through AMV BBDO, which breaks next month, the company will not confirm whether it will continue its four-year association with the pair next year. …
