AS EVERY PARENT KNOWS, CHILDREN have strong opinions. Now, when those opinions are about books, kids can air their views on the Internet. Parents may know that online bookstores print kids' reviews, but they may not realize that several Web sites focus on sharing kids' literary opinions. For two of the best book review outlets for young readers, check out the World of Reading Web site at worldreading.org and KidViews at eduplace.com/kids/rdg/chall.html.

At World of Reading, maintained by the Ann Arbor District Library in Michigan, the hundreds of reviews--which list the reviewer's first name, along with age and school--typically summarize the plot. But now and then a young voice breaks through with an especially effective response, such as a ten-year-old girl from Alberta, Canada, who expressed a feeling about one of author Avi's animal fantasies that any devoted reader could understand: "Poppy was an excellent book and I wish that I could read it again and again and forget what happens next." Visitors looking for something new to read can find books under subjects like humor and holidays, search by author and title or even browse by a reviewer's country and state. …
