Zanzibar tells the story of a young American in East Africa who becomes embroiled in the conspiracy to bomb the US embassy in Dares Salaam. Intermixed are a love story and a thriller.

The central character has come to Tanzania to undertake conservation work around the oceans of the Swahili coast. A chance encounter with a young woman working at the US embassy in Dar es Salaam, and a brush with the Al Quaeda terrorists perpetrators provides the plot.

It's an interesting book from an accomplished young writer, but it has its problems. …
