Charter One Financial Inc. of Cleveland has hired Charles G. Schultz as the president of its newly formed Charter One Vendor Finance LLC.

The unit, which opened in January in Lisle, Ill., provides financing and leasing services to manufacturers and distributors of capital equipment to help increase their business-to-business sales.

Mr. Schultz had been the group president of technology solutions vendor finance at Citigroup Inc.'s finance and leasing unit, CitiCapital.

He has 25 years of equipment financing and leasing experience.

Huntington Bancshares Inc. of Columbus, Ohio, has hired Kathleen M. Mural as its director of talent and organizational development and a senior vice president.

Ms. Mural was the attorney recruitment and development manager at Baker & Hostetler LLP, a Cleveland law firm. Before that she had been the human resources development manager and the career development specialist in Cleveland for Rockwell Automation Inc. of Milwaukee.

Earlier she had been a senior human resource representative and technical specialist at Nationwide Insurance Group of Columbus.

Sandler O'Neill & Partners LP of New York has hired James F. Hemmer as a managing director in its investment banking group.

Mr. Hemmer will advise the firm's Midwest customers and will be based in Chicago.

He was a senior vice president at Lehman Brothers, where he advised financial institutions on mergers and acquisitions in the Midwest. Before that he had worked at McDonald Investments Inc. …
