Our publication schedule makes this issue our first mailing to readers in the year, so even though we are already well into 2006, perhaps it is still appropriate to be thinking of it as a "new" year. Do you observe the tradition of making New Year's resolutions? If so, I hope your track record of living up to them is better than mine! Frailties of will power notwithstanding, it can be worthwhile to pause and lift up some goals and good intentions for each new year. In this issue, the column we used to know as "Resource Round Up" is continuing to evolve. Our goal is to provide you with information about new and promising resources in many formats that will help you to guide your child's personal, social, and talent development. "We've also included the first in a new series of columns with practical advice about advocacy for gifted education. During 2006, we'll be adding new columns on resources in academic content areas that can be useful at home to support and strengthen school learning experiences. …
