In the July/August issue of IT, I extolled the virtues of buying CD-ROM software and databases through mail order companies. I indicated that as long as you know the exact title and version number of the CD-ROM software and database that you want to buy you can't go wrong, as everyone is selling the very same product.

I owe you an addendum. At the time I was writing that column, I placed an order for the upgrade version of CD Creator 2.0 from Corel that l specifically mentioned in the column as a steal for $9. The mail order company called back claiming that its price was $19g, and our administrator almost cut the new check, believing that I was mistaken.
