The Scottish Film Archive, established in 1976, has a remit to locate and preserve moving images reflecting all aspects of Scottish society and culture in the twentieth century.

Information on the collection's 3,000 non-fiction titles shotlisted an catalogued is now published in book format. Fully indexed and cross referenced this catalogue will be an indispensable tool for television and production researchers, local historians, students and academics and those researching Scottish film culture.

The Archive's Curator Janet McBain, said: 'For the first time we are able to present in an accessible format the richness of the collection of film that has been acquired and identified by the Scottish Film Archive since its inception in 1976. The titles in this volume represent the work of professionals and amateurs, and range from educational and industrial film, family collections, local 'topical' films made by independent cinemas to the Oscar winning Seawards the Great Ships (1960) and government sponsored output. …
