The Wisconsin CTSO Fire Truck Project

In response to the events of September 11, the Wisconsin Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) have created a campaign to help the Fire Department of New York City (FDNY). When they learned that insurance and assistance from FEMA would only cover a portion of the cost of the 97 vehicles the FDNY lost in the terrorist attacks, the Wisconsin CTSO established The Wisconsin CTSO Fire Truck Project.

Calling it "From Wisconsin to New York," the Wisconsin CTSO has a goal of raising $448,000 for the purchase of a 1000 GPM Pumper Fire Engine to be manufactured at the Seagrave Fire Apparatus Company in Clintonville, Wis.

Wisconsin Governor Scott McCallum helped kick off the statewide campaign on November 27 with a proclamation signing ceremony. He was joined by representatives from Seagrave Fire Apparatus Company, the Wisconsin State Fire Fighters Association, the Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs' Association and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal.
