The Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show is the main event in the firearms industry. Virtually every new, major firearm is announced at the SHOT Show, and not before. The SHOT Show is a trade show and somewhat restricted to FFL holders and gun dealers. However, this is also clearly a pro-police convention, complete with two separate Law Enforcement pavilions.

The SHOT Show has everything: sniper rifles, shotguns, patrol rifles, handguns, ammunition, less-lethal munitions, handcuffs, knives, duty and off-duty apparel, footwear, MREs, optics, everything. Literally every form of police gear was on display from the patrol-oriented Baker Batshield to Hatch's new cushioned tactical knee pads to Xtreme Airsoft simunition firearms to all manner of LED flashlights and to brand-new tactical apparel from BlackHawk and Woolrich.

Stinger Systems displayed near-production versions of their full-size, four-dart, less-lethal device. And they announced plans for their compact, two-dart version coming in mid-year. Combined Tactical Systems showed off their downsized Training Flash/Bang and their promising 40mm Foam Baton. Of course. Sage International had their entire line of launchers, ballistic breachers and munitions.

Also in the less-lethal category was the Lightfield Super Star. This is a soft and fuzzy little plastic projectile that feels like a marshmallow and hits like a beanbag at close range. This is one impact munition that you can fearlessly show a judge and jury.
