Q My husband and I work different shifts and have so little couple and family time. What can we do?

A: It's not easy for working parents to always eat dinnerwith their kids and take them to the playground, much less find time to nurture their own relationship. Many partners today work on different , schedules. And even in cases where both partners work and come home at roughly the same hours, they are often doing different tasks in different rooms.

Couple time is an issue of both quantity and quality. IMs help, but actual time together is key. You don't need to do anything elaborate-share a shower before the kids are awake or stay up for a midnight snack. On occasion, though, plan ahead of time-maybe trade a shift with a coworker-to ensure several clear hours. …
